Scenario
On October 11, 1975 at 11:30 PM, a group of young comedians and writers changed television forever. Find out what happened behind the scenes in the 90 minutes leading up to the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live (1975). Matt Wood stars as John Belushi in “Saturday Night.” See the rest of the cast and their real-life counterparts. During the show’s broadcast, John Belushi walked through the door 39 seconds late.

It featured stars who have gone on to greater things in their careers, and I’ve only watched one episode, and that episode was hosted by Sydney Sweeney. Other than that, it’s a show that never really caught my attention, and I’m not a fan of sketch comedies. However, when I heard that Jason Reitman was directing a movie based on events that took place before the show debuted, I of course decided to give it a shot and had a great time watching Saturday Night (2024). Positives of Saturday Night (2024): This movie was a chaotic rollercoaster from start to finish.
Lastly, the movie did a fantastic job of making the set look chaotic
This movie has such a crazy pace that it requires your focus, and for the most part, it worked. The actors do a fantastic job of portraying the characters from the 70s, and while it was a bit distracting to watch some of them portray specific characters from the show, they all do a great job in their roles. The comedy in this movie is very funny, and some of the sketches they did had me laughing out loud. Cons of Saturday Night (2024): The movie is a bit too chaotic for me.
There are some conflicts that feel like they are being rushed through without a proper build-up
Lastly, the pace of the movie is so fast that I couldn’t keep up at times. Overall, Saturday Night (2024) is a fun experience from start to finish, and if you’re a fan of the show, I highly recommend this movie.
